Constitution of Harvard International School
Name of Institute: Harvard International School
Location: Paharpur, baluadanga, Dinajpur
Date of Establishment: 1st July 2022
Background of Establishment:
Dinajpur is a city and the District headquarters of Dinajpur district situated in Rangpur Division, Bangladesh. It was founded in 1786. It is located 413 km north-west of Dhaka in Bangladesh. It is bounded by the river Punarbhaba on the west. Dinajpur is historically and culturally a very important city in North Bengal. Dinajpur is famous for agriculture. Specially, Dinajpur is famous for its Litchi and aromatic rice called Katarivog.
Over the last 25 years, Dinajpur obtained many prominent educational institutes such as Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science & Technology University, M Abdur Rahim medical college, Dinajpur Polytechnic Institute, Textile Institute Dinajpur, Saint Philip's High School & College, Saint Joseph School Dinajpur, Dinajpur Zilla school, Dinajpur Govt. Girls High School, Dinajpur High School, Dinajpur Police Line School, Dinajpur Collectorate School & College and Dinajpur Govt. College.
Over these years, the quality of education has also significantly improved. The percentage of literacy in the city is 85.05% which is quite high compared with that of other cities in Bangladesh. The progress of education has been marked by gradual and steady increase in the proportion of literates.
But, a new major problem in education in many English Medium Institutions (Primary in high school, O levels and A levels) has arised in the last 5-6 years.
Due to many causes, Schools aren't able to provide sufficient educational resources and skilled Teachers to educate Students. Dinajpur has many Teachers, but it has a severe lack of capable, skilled, and English proficient Teachers.
And, while the standard for Secondary, Ordinary level and Advanced level Education increases, many students aren't able to keep up. These students are forced to either move to another city to seek help or study on their own, severely risking educational and academic success in their future.
Dinajpur used to have a British council Exam center for 0 levels and A levels. But, due to this problem, the exam center in Dinajpur has been disbanded, and all exam candidates from this city are forced to take their exams in Dhaka or Rangpur instead. Which causes a lot of inconvenience for both the exam candidates themselves and their parents.
We are highly against this issue and we don't want it to persist any longer and harm the future of the students in this city.
We want this problem to be solved as soon as possible and provide the necessary educational resources to the students, we want the students to be wise and perform well academically.
We support our students in their education as much as financially possible and ensure success in their future.
Many Teachers and people from Dinajpur have united to Establish Harvard International School (play group to 'A' level) Dinajpur. We want to make the name of this city shine, and we are doing our best to solve this problem and provide quality education to the students of Dinajpur. This is our goal, and we solemnly promise to fulfill it. Founder members who take the initiative for establishing the school are...

Walkers: Students who walk or are picked up by walkers should meet at the gate. DO NOT ASK YOUR CHILD TO MEET YOU IN THE PARKING LOT INSIDE THE GATE OR ON EDGE ROAD. There will be a teacher supervising until 3:00 p.m. After 3:00 remaining students will be brought to the office.
Cars: The circular drive in front of the school is used to drop students off at school, and there is an organized pick-up system for dismissal time. You must have a car pick-up number to drive through the car pick-up line at dismissal times. Your carpool number must be clearly displayed (in your car’s right front window) for the teachers organizing children for pick-up.
Campus Driving/Parking Rules: NO PARKING in any red zone on the campus. Keep the entrance to the parking lot open. When leaving the lot, drive slowly in the "Drive-Thru" lane to exit. DO NOT drive out the entrance. There is NO PARKING on Edge Road. If you park on any road, please allow enough room for walkers, bikers and strollers to pass safely along the passenger side of your vehicle. DO NOT use the front of the school where the children are waiting as a bike route. NO PARKING in the staff parking area.
Car-pool PICK-UP Procedures: Form a single line next to the sidewalk for dropping off and picking up children. Keep the driveway and parking lot entrances clear. NO DOUBLE PARKING. It is very dangerous
if children are walking between cars. NO PARKING in front of the school during drop-off and pick-up times. It takes only one car parked at the curb to disrupt the flow. Please be courteous and observe this rule! If you plan to park and leave your car, please park in the parking lot. DO NOT ASK YOUR CHILD TO MEET YOU IN THE PARKING LOT! Any student remaining at 3:00 p.m. will be brought back to the office by the supervising teacher.
Lunches / Snacks / Tiffin: School has a plan to serve Tiffin/snacks/lunches for all the students. Students must pay and take Tiffin/snacks/lunches from school and no one will be allowed to bring their own food without special permission.
HEALTH POLICY: Pupils attending school should be in good physical health and without signs of contagious diseases. Communicable diseases should be reported to the Harvard International School office so that exposure notices may be sent home with classmates. Parents are asked to keep their sick children home until all signs of contagiousness including vomiting; diarrhea and fever have subsided for 24 hours. School personnel can assist with the administering of medication to students only if the proper permission and prescription form is filed in the Harvard International School office. Students taking medication at school must notify their teachers and file the proper form in the Harvard International School office. All medication is to be kept in the school office.
Vision and hearing screenings are conducted in Kindergarten and Second Grade, and for all new students/teacher referrals.
Illness and medication:
If your child is ill with a fever, diarrhea, conjunctivitis (eye infection) or other contagious disease, he is not permitted to come to school. Although it is not mandatory, we do appreciate your calling the office and letting us know if your child will not be attending for any reason.
If the child develops fever, or otherwise becomes ill at school, the parents will be called immediately. If in the judgment of the teachers, the child is ill and needs to go home, the parents must come and pick up their child within a 45-minute period (or arrange for someone, grandmother, etc., to pick up the child within this time). This is essential for the safety and well being of your child and of the other children.
Please note that the staff cannot administer any medication (including cough syrup or homeopathic medicines) without written authorization from both parent and doctor. The teachers have a form “Administration des Médicaments” available when necessary. Parents must fill out this form and give
the bottle/box of medication, with the prescription affixed, to the teacher (do not put medication in the lunch box). A prescription is also necessary for “over the counter” medication such as cough syrup, any creams or lotions, or “natural” medication.
SMOKING, DRINKING AND DRUGS:
1. Smoking
2. Drinking and Drugs
School has got a definite policy and laws for smoking, drinking and taking drugs which can be seen from the law book.
